The President of Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli , appointed ambassador Franz Beckenbauer Honorary his country in the hope that Kaiser Franz, German football legend, to use its influence to encourage the accession of Kosovo to Uefa and Fifa .

Kosovo, which proclaimed its independence from Serbia on February 17, 2008 , has been recognized so far by 75 countries represented on the total of 192 UN.
