Example Of A Sorority Interest Letter

Che non è Im Abendrot, culmination of Lezte Vier Lieder , but a page of dreamy sweetness, Malven.

History Malven is exciting and adventurous. Dated November 23, 1948, was composed as a tribute to the singer songwriter Elder Moravian Maria Jeritza, who played many roles in his musical dramas (including the rugged Salome). The dedication reads "To my friend Maria, the latter rose" and in effect between the two seems that there was much more than a mutual professional respect. Jeritza jealously guards the secret of this liaison, as well as their last respects to the great composer, who died in 1949.
Many decades later, early eighties, began to leak news of the existence of a song that was to seal the production of Strauss, but Jeritza first denied, then took his time, finally agreed to the public performance of the piece - as long as it took place after his death occurred in 1984. Then, when his estate was auctioned, Zubin Mehta tried to win the song, but was beaten by a mysterious buyer.

After many searches, it was discovered that it was New York philanthropist, well-prepared to make known to the world Malven. Did not end here, of course, because the copyright was called into question the heirs of Strauss and the poet Swiss author of the text of the Lied, Betty Knobel. After much negotiation and some transvolate ocean Malven was performed in New York January 10, 1985. The New York Philharmonic was led by Zubin Mehta, who finally saw the culmination of a dream long cherished, and the New Zealand soprano Kiri Te Kanawa (will post later a video that talks about the song, before you run it with Georg Solti.

Malven does not have the scale nor the beauty of transfigured Vier Lieder Lezte , with which Strauss wanted to conclude his public activities as a composer. His lulling pace and the constant changing colors of harmony evokes the delicate grace of the flowers they are talking about the verses of Knobel: single flowers, "fragrance free", similar a pale face streaked with tears, swaying in the wind as humble servants of the summer.

The quiet sweetness of Malven peacefully with me in this new year I wish, me and you, full of music and happiness.

A new video of Jacqueline Du Pré

Rai From the archives reveals a valuable unpublished paper on Jacqueline Du Pré.
This is a video which involves the English cellist, lamented in the Sonata in F Major, Op. 99 by Brahms (1886). At the piano, Daniel Barenboim (with the exception of a Page Turner: Pinchas Zuckerman)

E 'extraordinary complementarity between the two soloists. How passionate and 'overflowing' Du Pré, Barenboim is so measured and clear. In both, however, the chisel work of the sentences is fine.

The Human Side of The Ring

You thought that pass over in silence the Valkyrie on the Scale? Mais non, parbleu ! The fact is that I was able to listen only on the day of St. Stephen, in reply to Rai5 providential. Before I had to settle for a few clips on YouTube, however, that already gave an idea of how the evening went, from the infamous Barneboim appeal in defense of Italian culture with the spell of fire Brünnhilde who becomes the lamp. On YouTube, among other things, a noted commentator on the web shocked that the winds were not as sharp as those of the Met under the guidance of Levine ... with the moonlight that there are around here - one might venture - is already so long that the orchestra does not Facciani trumpet with unconventional instruments ... However, if the quality of the winds Americans do not even discuss (it's tradition) it is true that the Italians would have set a Oricalco dovuto averla (come pure, ma per altre ragioni, quel violinista che in prima fila ruminava vistosamente il chewingum: non lo permetto ai miei alunni, figurarsi se lo ammetto alla Scala).
C'è l'amore, quello viscerale, che riscatta l'esistenza più mutually complementary in the dark, there's revenge, resentment, fear, the conflict between necessity and mercy ... All this makes the Valkyrie episode perhaps more human whole tetralogy. And it's all a crescendo, the storm that opens the play to the poignant farewell to the beloved daughter of the god Wotan. The magic of fire that surrounds his body is one of the miracles of music history ...

Born today: Pau Casals

On December 29, 1876 was born in Catalonia Pau Casals i Defilló (better known to the Castilian variant Pablo Casals, whom he openly rejected), one of the most celebrated cellists of Twentieth century.
After beginning his musical training with his father, organist (even though it had earmarked for a future as a carpenter) and in major conservatories in Spain, in 1895 he moved to Paris, where he was first cello in the orchestra and soloist Orchestra of the Concerts Lamoureux.
He dedicated himself with passion for chamber music, especially in the famous trio founded in 1919 with Alfred Cortot and Jacques Thibaud. Casals was a bitter opponent of the Franco regime and any dictatorship, whether fascist or communist was. After the English Civil War took refuge in the French Pyrenees, in Prades, where in 1950 founded a Festival will become an important meeting place for musicians from all over the world.
Casals died in 1973. His name is linked to the Bach Suites, which was discovered accidentally at the age of thirteen years and stably introduced in the concert repertory a decade later. His recording of the suites, the first to be made, still remains a milestone. In this movie Casals performs the first suite in an ancient abbey French

But here we have an interesting fragment of a masterclass on the suites, which also shows his proverbial irony (the famous his line when, at ninety, still turned out to study three hours per day and "start seeing some improvement").

Preview Of Rebozo Way

errors of blind faith

Hello everyone.
The best way to try to learn the mysteries of man is to listen, to converse with other people, preserving, much better than a book, the knowledge accumulated from their experiences (and not only that). The discussion leads to the emergence and develop the wealth of information in new ways, sometimes more effective than previous ones, in some cases overturning their convictions and beliefs. This inner revolution is because too often a knee-jerk reaction to defend against malfondate their ideas and this blind faith in the truth turns provocative, common sense in ostentation, the truth in artifice.
The reason is not the only means, perhaps, to get the truth so that the man always craves and I think that as long as you only confide in this or in their belief it is doomed to fail.

Handmade Greetings

I have to thank Claudia. From its beautiful blog, which is now a few months ago one of my favorite books, I got the idea to create special Christmas gifts. Accomplices an old friend and experienced sewing machine, I have prepared the bouillottes .
I've got one of those Swedish filled with grain, which are found in pharmacies. During the winter is really a holy hand, especially when you get there to rest and his gentle warmth is just what it takes to send in a direct route into the arms of Orpheus. Claudia
That, however, is even better, because the padding is enriched with dried flowers of lavender and chamomile. You should feel that while preparing perfume! The satisfaction, then, to wrap their hands with something so beautiful and so good is priceless. Not felt for a long time ... thanks, Claudia!

Brief reflection in verse

not judge.
Where you live is soltanto un piccolo angolo di questa terra.
Per quanto giungano lontani i tuoi occhi,
essi racchiudono poco;
al poco che odi
aggiungi la tua voce.
Con cura conservi da parte
bene e male, nero e bianco.

So what if some men are good and others are not?
are all travelers in the same way.
not judge.
Alas, time flies away,
and every word is vain.

How Long It Takes Flagyl To Cure Trichomonas

The Christmas tree of Liszt

In 1882, Liszt published a collection of twelve pieces entitled "Christmas tree", dedicating it to his nephew Daniel. As the composer wrote to Princess Carolyn Sayn-Wittgenstein, these songs meant to be "simple echoes" of "youthful emotions", with no special demands virtuosic compositional sophistication or sophisticated.
But, you know, Liszt is a sort of King Midas who turns to gold (sometimes too gold) almost everything. So even this Christmas anthology is a succession of delicious goodies where peeps around the colorful world of the author. There are flashes of virtuosity (6. Carillon), parentheses tenderness (7. Lullaby), moments of childlike joy in pure Schumann (5. Lighting the candles on the tree), solemn prayers to the tune of old traditional songs (such as Psallite of 1 or Adeste fideles leading the march of the Magi No.4). There is even the melancholy of days beyond (No. 10, once) and a fiery tribute to Hungary (No. 11, In Hungarian Style) and Poland (No. 1 in the Polish style), country, respectively, author and Princess Caroline, with whom years earlier Liszt had reached a pitch from the altar.
On YouTube you can find all the songs, performed by an interpreter of choice Liszt, Leslie Howard. Here I propose to listen to the No 3, "The shepherds at the manger, where a soft ostinato" ministry "will accompany the traditional In dulci jubilo : if you do not feel the ending is a delight, where Liszt - an image of unbridled piano virtuosity - manages to evoke the innocent wonder a crib with two notes on the cross!

Fantin Luca Scarabelli / Marco Rambaldi / Michele Spanghero

Sunday, December 19, 11.30, Casabianca will be inaugurated in the third exhibition of the cycle devoted to the comparison between three artists who started their research, respectively, in the eighties, ninety-two thousand. Michele Spanghero, impegnato in un percorso caratterizzato dalla ricerca sonora, invita i visitatori a modificare la propria esperienza della gallery, creating a second level of perception through the use of the structure of sensory Casabianca as a vehicle where you can blend vision and hearing.

South Park Episodes For Itouch

The wonder and enchantment of Christmas in the music of Messiaen

Olivier Messiaen, of course, was animated by a deep faith, who also provided the inspiration for much of his work.
In 1944, while violence raged on the war Paris, Messiaen wrote an impressive series of piano music of life more than two hours: These are Vingt Regards sur l'enfant Jesus . Debussy sounds in these songs are intertwined with complex compositional styles based on the use of leitmotif and manipulation of rhythmic-harmonic schemes. The result is enormous: the music of Messiaen transmits the force of passion that permeated his faith. In the song Première communion de la Vierge the enchanting sounds of birdsong crystal ornaments merge with the first heartbeat of the baby Jesus in his mother's womb creating a miraculous wonder.

To a friend far away to the Immaculate

Quanto mi mancano la tua umanità, la tua intelligenza, la tua disperata volontà di guardare in faccia knowing that things would have crossed dangerously empty for many consciences.
Sometimes I try to believe you're on the road again, in one of those distant countries that you really like to peer with an ocean and the sun to caress your skin encrusted with salt.
In fact, this was your longest trip. And wherever you are, I hope you have found peace at last.

Music: Maria durch ein Dornwald ging

I had posted last year, but will take it back because it is one of the Christmas carols that I love most: the melody is beautiful, the text even more, with the beautiful image of the oak forest that genera rose laddove la Vergine partorisce suo figlio.

Maria went through a thorn forest, Kyrie eleison.

Maria went through a thorn forest, which has taken seven years in a leaf.

Jesus and Mary.

what Maria was wearing under her heart? Kyrie eleison.

A small child without pain that Mary wore at her heart.

Jesus and Mary.

have since worn the roses thorns. Kyrie eleison.

As the young child through the forest getragen, haben die from Dornen Rosen getragen.

Jesus und Maria.

Mary goes to a forest of oaks, Kyrie Eleison.

Mary goes to a forest of oak trees for seven years had not generated a leaf.

Jesus and Mary.

What brings Mary in her womb? Kyrie Eleison.

Maria brought a small child without pain. The shaking in his heart.

Jesus and Mary.

There the oaks have created roses. Kyrie Eleison.

When he raised the baby in the forest, the oaks have raised roses.

Jesus and Mary.

Ear training

* For those who want to learn about the Web is a inexhaustible source of information: from points to mesh tutorial videos that explain how to play an instrument, you can really indulge. One of the more interesting blog post Violinistivùvùvù dotcoms indicates a range of toys online for ear training and musical memory. For those who sing or play an instrument that needs to be given, this type of training is essential. And the other musicians ... too. Obvious that games like these have their limitations, but it can be nice to beat other ways besides the classical musical dictation.

For heading of music dedicated to Christmas, I propose to you a classic Advent (preferably one follows in the eighth before Christmas): the hymn Veni veni Emmanuel . This is a chant of the French XV century, on a text more ancient, perhaps dating from the eighth or ninth century. There are many versions created from this beautiful melody, especially in Anglo-Saxon countries, where the hymn is very popular (just look at how many versions on YouTube or as O Emmanuel ).

I propose the musical transposition of Zoltan Kodaly (pronounced Kodai, as it reminded me of my demanding teacher of choral singing!), Hungarian composer of the twentieth-century culture truly encyclopedic, that it worked very well in education, especially for choral music (the author of learning system based on speech "do mobile", filmed in Italy by Roberto Goitre). In his version of the ancient melody is covered with new harmonies with the effects of unprecedented beauty. And as for ear training must do well to sing this song ..

Kidney Infection Wont Go Away

Patrizia Giambi / Alessandra Andrini / Daniela Manzolli

Alessandra Andrini develops a long research to undermine the eyes of the average daily behavior to trigger a mechanism that produces a second level of thought. On this occasion, the usual comparison with the spaces of the city, replacing the one with the typical rural architecture as that of Casabianca. The three works by Daniela Manzolli pay homage to the artistic techniques through subtle rhetorical shifts: a video capturing the last remnants of an old song now becoming valuable sound document, installation of waste is generated by the production of a design that does not exist, small sculptures made with the traditional wax lost open to the territories of the readymade.

The Control For My Extigy

et alia First Sunday of Advent

E 'on the first Sunday of Advent: Christmas is finally getting closer and closer and I can not wait to be able to enjoy the holidays in the quiet of our new home.
the meantime, each week I'll post some Christmas music that has inspired composers from different eras.

Durante il path, then, are not unexpected also happened recently, like the time that thieves have stolen all the multimedia content on the night before class and come to school, I had to speak off the cuff for an hour of shooting a cameraman a few feet from the nose (surprise!) with only the help of a CD that luckily had with me, because the PC and the projector remedied on the spot did not work (live Windows!).
In that moment I was reminded of the definition that gives the Levi-Strauss bricoleur in "The Savage Mind", a definition that I think fits very well to the teaching profession:

The bricoleur is capable of perform a large number of different tasks, but unlike the engineer, he makes them the possession of raw materials and tools conceived and procured expressly for the realization of his project; (...) for him, the rule of the game is in ' adapt equipment always available ...

Fortunately, the first "equipment" teachers are the students, many or few, prepared or not, they can always surprise you by making each class unique.
A summary of that meeting (unfortunately were cut interventions favoring boys) this has been available on YouTube Video Gazzuolo Centre, which had carried out the shooting, although I hate to expose myself all'attenzione generale, è un bel ricordo di quel 'bricolage' che amo tantissimo, che è la mia professione

Cesare Viel * has made Day and night action that comes unexpected sound, a voice that is not clear if you ask us, or simply in itself, if it is a stumbling block, a rhythm or a request. Sabrina Torelli in ** During the day we do not see the stars reflected on that universal field that, while permeating not only the space, but all beings living and inanimate objects, can not be heard when it must confront the powerful impressions of the physical senses, but persists in its immanence. A number of elements in nature, were collected, processed, restored, carved and painted as a synecdoche of man and nature that are simply a reflection of the cosmic forces that act on the planet forever. Emanuela Ascari, having stripped parts of the ramifications of groundwater Casabianca with an archaeological excavation that shows connections with the water element, with the gas and electricity, has turned to the extracted material, the ground beneath our feet, in a meticulous job of identifying each element che compone questo strato, come riappropriazione di una conoscenza andata perduta in anni di allontanamento da questa materia vitale.

The rooms Dzyan: presentation

Hello everyone. The
" Shloka of Dzyan " date back to remote antiquity and hold the deepest secrets of our universe: the Cosmogenesis , which consists of seven rooms with 53 verses and the Anthropogenesis , formed by 12 rooms with 49 verses. The
Shloka of Dzyan are first presented by HP Blavatsky to the West through the 7 volumes of the "Secret Doctrine " claimed to be the esoteric been tasked by his masters of the East - Initiates the esoteric truths - to spread knowledge to drive part of the ancient Catholic superstitions and nihilistic theories of time, both products of ignorance about the events recounted in the symbolic Oriental volumes.
<<'s book, "writes Madame Dzyan Blavatksy-not in possession of European libraries and scholars of the West have never heard of: well it exists and is kept in a place inaccessible to the curiosity of even the most daring observer >>; continues with a description of the manuscript the original is held by the Occult Hierarchy, watched by her and a few other disciples: << A manuscript archaic - A collection of palm leaves made impermeable to water, fire and air, by some special process unknown - is before the eyes of the writer. On the first page, on a matt black background, is an immaculate white disk. On the next page, the same disk, but with a central point. The book, however, several details of which it does not mention. seems to be, for example, strongly magnetized , because if an individual takes a page in hand, you see now pass before me a view of events che il libro è inteso a descrivere... "

The way to impress their brightness is the art.
Art is the medium that enables man to immortalise their shining path.
